Addressing the queries related to the 200 kg of silver donations to Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir by members of the Sindhi community in 2021, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has issued clarification and said that everything stands logged and documented in its records.

This comes after the Vishwa Sindhi Seva Sangam wrote to the Trust and sought details regarding 200 kg silver donated on January 26, 2021. It noted that donors had neither received official receipts for their contribution nor were informed about how or where the silver had been used, IANS reported.

Clarifying the matter, the Temple Trust noted that all the 200 silver bricks remain properly recorded in its register of precious metals.

It highlighted that a decision was made earlier to melt the donated silver, along with other silver received by the Trust, and manufacture 20 kg silver bars of 99.99 per cent purity.

These silver bars were prepared following due procedure, while photographs documenting the weighing of the silver as well as the manufacturing process have also been shared as part of its response.

Further, it mentioned that the newly manufactured silver bars are stored securely in a locker at the State Bank of India branch in Ayodhya. These will get utilised for the Trust’s activities as and when required in the future.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust even asked the Vishwa Sindhi Seva Sangam to provide names, addresses, mobile numbers, PAN details, and email addresses of all the 200 donors to issue individual official receipts to each contributor.

This comes at a time when the Temple Trust is dealing with the probe into the alleged theft of donations collected at the Ram Temple.
